Blog Reflection

When I started this blog, I really didn't like it. I didn't see how it would really be beneficial to me as a teacher. But as we go along, I see where it benefits even me...even though I don't have time to get to it that often. At first I didn't really know where to go with it. It seemed like a good way to vent...but that's not a good idea. Now I look at it kind of like a diary or a journal, a way for me to look back on things I've done, learn from them, and see how much I've grown as a teacher. It also gives me insight into my fellow MAT students progress and let's me see that I'm not alone. Looking at other blogs also gives me new ideas and inspires me to try harder when I feel like I'm slacking off or feeling like it isn't worth it.

NO TOLERANCE!

Before Thanksgiving, the school instituted the 'No Tolerance' policy on insubordination. Well, so far it seems to have taken with most of the kids. They keep catching themselves opening their mouths to argue or spout words of disrespect, but its like there is some kind of magical barrier that makes them close them again! I even had one student come back and apologize because he was afraid I had taken the answer to a question I asked the wrong way! It's a long way to go until May and they have plenty of time to get comfortable, but as long as everyone follows through...it looks like things could be going alot smoother for everyone!
